Grade 5/6 Camp – 2017

On Wednesday the 6th of September, the Grade 5/6 students went away on an exciting adventure to Camp Jungai. With a short stopover on the way, the two and half hour trip flew by. Once arriving, the students quickly settled into their cabins, a quick bite to eat and it was straight into the activities.

Enter Aunty Arora, an Aboriginal Elder that taught us about Aboriginal culture and the meaning of respect, for ourselves, each other and the land, taking only what we need, not want. This set the theme for rest of the camp, team building whilst remaining respectful. There was high ropes, canoeing, raft building, hiking, catapult building and plenty of time for socialising with our friends. We stayed up talking at night, dancing at the disco and playing lots of games.

Although it was a very wet, rainy time at camp, we still had an amazing time. All of the staff were so helpful and organised. We’re already looking forward to when we may return.
